I was visiting Marshall recently (from California) and all the locals that we asked about this place all said it was great. I didn't really know what to expect from a Chinese place in a rural area like this, but it was very good!
We had the general's chicken, which was fried really nicely and served with the sauce separately so it was nice and crispy. I could have eaten the chicken without the sauce and it still would have been good.
The other things that stood out were the scallops, which came with our beef with scallops plate. I thought they would be rubbery like you always get but they were cooked really nicely- nice and tender (just like the beef). I was pleasantly surprised by this place.
The only weird thing was that the older waitress/hostess lady stands in the shadows of the corner and watches you eat, which seems to be somewhat common in Asian restaurants. -

This was decent no buffet Chinese food. Served to order, the items were fresh and flavorful. The crab Rangoon were great and fresh as well. It wasn't cheap but we received decent portions. It's standard Chinese fare served to order. When we were there on a Saturday evening there was only one other table occupied but they had a lot of to-go orders.
Service was great. -

Being from out of town I heard good things about the restaurant. Overall it is good and probably the best for this town. I chose to eat in versus they large population of carry out orders. Service was friendly and prompt. There is the option to half your appetizer if you're alone. At least that was the case for the Rangoon I had, which were good. I had the orange beef for my main meal. It was good as well.
The thing that concerned me/annoyed me were all the gnats that were in the restaurant. I was constantly shoo-ing them away. Towards the end of my meal I quit trying as I was done. I then watched one crawl into the sweet and sour sauce bowl and become trapped. I guess it was a bittersweet end??? This experience made me wonder how many of those gnats end up in the call-in orders that sit while their soon to be host is driving to the restaurant. It also made me wonder, does the restaurant charge extra for them gnats as they could be considered extra protein? -

Very good food and people. Just hate how they are burdened with people who live to be cheap people. Very different than the typical Chinese restaurants which I find this place more filling. I've read reviews everywhere about this place and see people complain about prices but I believe this place is reasonably priced due to the amount of food you get. I mean, come on. If you own a business you know when supplier prices go up, you have to change to be able to profit. Or else you have a failing business. What don't people understand?
Anyway love this place and will continue to eat here.
